San Diego | 29 March 2012 -- The San Diego Chapter of the Software Industries Council is presenting the event “Drupal: Rapid, Flexible, Enterprise-Ready Open Source!” on Thursday April 5, 2012, starting at 5:30 pm. The event, to be held at Sheppard Mullin in Del Mar, will be led by Harley Orion, CEO of Orion Creative Group and Susan Rust, a Drupal Business Analyst and Strategist, co-founder of Drupal Anywhere, and chief organizer of San Diego’s recent SANDCamp Drupal conference.
Orion and Rust will be presenting the benefits of Drupal over other Content Management Systems (CMS), as well as discussing how to get started with it. Additionally, he will touch on how to evaluate your organization’s needs to determine if Drupal will be a good fit, how to identify a potential Drupal partner, and how to begin participating as a developer or as a company.
Drupal is a free, open source web development framework that incorporates features of a CMS along with powerful and flexible site architecture tools. It enables developers to create websites that are faster and more powerful, while being cost-effective. It also allows users to have greater access to their administrative tools, giving them the ability to control their web content more than other platforms.
“Keeping your website up to date with fresh content is vital,” states Orion. “A stale website is no longer good enough for your fans or for the search engines. Drupal enables your marketing team to take ownership of your site content, while providing exceptional security and stability.”
Drupal is quickly becoming a major web platform online. Currently, over 23% of the top 10,000 highest-traffic sites on the web are in Drupal, including the White House, Fast Company, and Warner Bros. Music, to name a few.
The event runs from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm, with refreshments at 5:30 pm; at Sheppard Mullin in Del Mar. The cost for the event is $35 for members of the San Diego Software Industries Council, and $45 for non-members.
