So, as a sequel to our blog post from last year, we are sharing our thoughts on the annual forecast of the trends for the coming year from JWTIntellegence. This two-minute video outlines the top trend shifts in 2012, and there are a few trends that we at Orion Creative Group have definitely been following, as well, in order to help our clients stay ahead of the curve.
Adaptability
Brands are trending toward adapting their marketing plans to make their products and services more easily accessible to their consumers. This may not seem like news, but it underscores the challenge of ever-increasing noise in the consumer marketplace – the moment your prospective customer is ready to buy, with a single Google search he or she can find 100 possible solutions to their problem – how will you ensure that your brand is the one they reach for, and that your website or staff are ready to serve them in the instant you have their attention?
Clear Brand Identity
From our perspective as an inbound marketing agency, this is always the goal. While there are many components to a successful marketing plan, creating a clear brand identity is the first step. One flaw that we often see in companies’ marketing plans is inconsistency – which potentially can confuse consumers. Creating a uniform message across all consumer touchpoints (identity, web, collateral, advertising and so on) will help consumers to see the value in your brand. Ease of Access
Not only are consumers looking for clarity among the growing number of options they have, but ease of access to those goods and services. Creating an easy-to-navigate website, becoming active in social networking communities, and optimizing your website for search engines are some key ways to give consumers the ability to access your product or service more easily. In the current economic climate, missing out on opportunities to convert a potential consumer of your goods or services is not acceptable. So (to follow another highlighted trend from JWT), it is imperative that businesses be wise with the resources that are available and create their own opportunities.
